Qualification
We
also provide Specific training for Child and Baby First Aid (both the two day
for childcare professionals and the one day for childcare assistants, mums
and anyone who wishes to enhance their public/HSE first aid):
Child and Baby Basic Emergency Aid - One Day
Paediatric First Aid (for childcare professionals) - Two day
Child and Baby Emergency First Aid (One Day)
This course is suitable for Nannies wishing to join the Voluntary part of the Ofsted Childcare Register (OCR).
It is also suitable for teachers, Au Pairs, Babysitters, Parents and anybody who cares for children and needs a basic course.
This one day (6 hour) course ensures the OCR required syllabus subjects and
depth are covered and each candidate is assessed to be able to safely apply
all the skills taught:
- Dealing with an Emergency
- First Aid Priorities
- Choking - Child and Baby
- Resuscitation (CPR) - Child and Baby
- Anaphylaxis
- Bleeding and Shock
- Burns & Scalds
- Eye & Ear injuries
- Fractures
- Childhood illnesses including Meningitis and Febrile Convulsions
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final examination. Those delegates who complete the course, and are deemed to have reached the required standard, are awarded a certificate that is valid for three years and advised to attend a half day refresher annually - details of which are covered on the course.
