Duration: ½ day
Overview
The current Fire Legislation: the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force on 1st October 2006 and it revokes the old legislation of the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (workplace) Regulations 1997. As a result, fire safety training that is relevant to your workplace must be provided - this is an annual requirement. Our fire Safety course gives qualification that meets this legislation demand and the employers general requirements under the HASWA 74.
This is a half day course that gives a sound understanding of fire hazards, the nature and spread of fire and how it starts. This is complimented by understanding fire extinguishers, their type, use and importantly when not to use them and evacuate. Fire evacuation, fire drills and assembly point control is explained and each candidate is given a sound knowledge of the current guidelines and regulations.
Aimed at all employees and those with the role of Fire Marshal/Warden whose responsibility may include safely using fire extinguishers within the workplace.
